Our unique 3D-First design process allows us to truly bring our creative ideas to light; developing a project that makes you fall in love with your home all over again. We engage in design with a function-forward approach; looking at furniture placement, desired “zones” within the yard, maintenance required and user-experience. We follow this up by matching the aesthetic to your home while considering your unique tastes. We recommend all materials and walk you though the endless decisions required when creating a new outdoor living space.

Matthew May has been an active member of the landscape and hardscape community in Ottawa for over 15yrs. Beginning as a labourer and moving up to a foreman position quickly over the first 8yrs, then as owner, principle designer and main point of contact at Hardscape Ottawa over the next 7yrs.
Featured on several industry renowned podcast episodes such as The Hardscape Growth Podcast and How to Hardscape Podcast, Matthew has always been outspoken about growing the value of the green trades. Matt has been at the forefront as the industry has evolved beyond landscaping to creating a cohesive outdoor living experiences rich with features and points of interest.
His unique blend of creative skills and product knowledge coupled with expansive landscape construction experience ensures every design we produce is innovative, ahead of the trends and most importantly account for all factors that may arise for construction.

Tyler Schaffler has been an active outdoorsman and has worked in the customer service industry for over 15 years. With a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology from Ottawa University, Tyler has always been interested in landscaping, soils and how we can blend structures into our earth as seamlessly as possible.
Having completed numerous personal design projects, Tyler signed up for Algonquin College’s Architecture Technician program in 2020 and completed his second degree in 2022. Specializing in design and 3D Renderings, Tyler received honors in every design class taken.With a creative spirit and mindset, Tyler is ready to help you create your dream outdoor living space. He is great at working with you to ensure your design requirements are met, while ensuring optimal flow throughout the space. Tyler is ready and excited to help create a unique and breathtaking designs just for you.
